Joshua and Mommy Go To The Park

Boy, Noun: A noise with dirt on it.

Joshua loves to play outside, what little boy doesn't? Today we were both feeling cabin fever and driving each other crazy so we decided to go to the park.

We decided to go to Julius M. Kleiner Memorial Park. It's a fairly new, huge park and I love it. It's beautiful.

We walked around the park and saw some old men fishing.

We made some wishes on dandelions.

Joshua stood up by himself for the second time.

He also really enjoyed crawling around with mommy on the grass.

And laying on the grass

 Just look at that face.

He had a good time on the swings

Well, mostly a good time...

And he was fascinated by the tree leaves.

I just love this kid. <3

Manning Family Adventure: The Morrison Knudsen Nature Center

For this weeks family day we decided to go to the MK Nature Center. The weather was wonderful and the Nature Center was a great place to spend our day. I loved the fresh smell of nature and it made me long to go camping. The boys all had fun walking around and looking in the various ponds.

Allen reading the rules.

Beaver Dam

They had a lot of cool metal sculptors like this one

 And waterfalls and ponds

We saw some pretty big fish, Allen got excited about that part. He loves all water creatures.

We read the boys a lot of educational information that they probably won't remember.

Tarek hanging out in a Nature Blind. They have these blinds set up throughout the area for people who want to sit and watch the different animals come and go.

I love this picture so I made it a little bigger than the rest.

They had under water viewing windows

 "Look Mommy!"

Inside the Nature Center office there was a little water play bin that the boys loved and a few other activity centers. They also had a lot of stuffed dead animals.

I think the water play bin was their favorite part of the whole trip.

At this station you made animal foot prints in sand with the rubber molds

This station had different boards you colored over to make a picture

This station had different animal furs for you to feel

They had this cute little corner that I liked, Joshua didn't want a mini photo shoot though and I only had my phone camera.

Afterwards we went to Cold Stone and enjoyed some ice cream. It was a good time.

All in all we loved the Nature Center and look forward to going back someday.
I'll leave you with a quote I saw and loved on the wall of the Nature Center building.
